The Raiders put on a great show during Saturday’s exhibition pre-season game with Lawrence County. East took the Bulldogs 81-59.

“It is what we anticipated,” Coach Brandon Baker said. “We did a lot of good things and exposed a lot of things we need to work on. We need to find those things at this point in the season and fix them.”

Despite holding a huge lead over Lawrence County for the entire game (as much as 32 points in the third quarter) the Raiders are looking to quickly improve their defensive game.

“We’re just unorganized in our press series,” Baker said. “We weren’t very good in our rotations and our traps were kind of loose.”

Offensively, East looked good, sharing the ball and moving well.

Senior Colt Barnhill, who is visibly bigger and stronger than last season, led the Raiders in scoring with 20 points. Koty Buck put up 12 and Dylan Genung had eight. Kyle Bair sank seven while Dylan McDavid and Tyler Clay put up six each. Caleb Adams and Mark Bryant had five while Connor Robinson and Dylan McDavid sank four each. Tanner Ashworth and Kyle Stewart each landed a field goal from inside.

The Raiders will face off with Spring Valley this weekend at the Heart of the Parks exhibition at home. Game time is set for 6:45 p.m. Saturday.
