The Kentucky Christian University women’s basketball team traveled to Midway to play the Eagles of Midway University.
Despite playing on the road, KCU produced a strong first half effort that kept the Lady Knights within five points of the home-standing Eagles, 28-23. But unfortunately, that is as close as it would get as Midway used a 22 pt. third quarter to push their lead to 20 points and never looked back, winning the game 69-42.
For KCU, the combination of shooting .370 from the floor and committing 24 turnovers was their ultimate undoing. With all of the miscues, MU was able to put up 17 more shots than the Lady Knights and hit a much better percentage (.444) of those additional attempts. It didn’t help the KCU cause that the Eagles also corralled 14 offensive rebounds during the contest.
Not a single Lady Knight reached double figures in scoring. Sydney Foster led the team with eight points on 4-7 shooting and collected four rebounds while Jordan Holt was held to six points and led KCU with eight rebounds plus four assists. Destiny Peck chipped in seven points.
