The Knights of Kentucky Christian University got an important Mideast Region win on Tuesday night as they used a big second half to defeat the Bulldogs of Boyce College, 97-77.
The 20-point win marked the team’s first victory of 2019 and places them squarely in the hunt for the Mideast crown.
KCU shot over .500 for the game on 40-79 from the field and drained 12 3-pointers. The Knights used a very balanced attack as they placed five players in double digits.
Led by Ethan Leist’s 19 points on a scorching 8-11 shooting performance and 3-5 from behind the arc, KCU was off to the races.
With 18 points, Owens Crawford was 8-13 from the floor with a “three” in 27+ minutes. The inside duo of Cole Gilliland and Juran Ligonde had 12 points/7 rebounds and 14 points/7 rebound, respectively. Rounding out the double-digit scorers, Travis Weaver added 10 points on 4-6 shooting and 2 3-pointers for his efforts.
