The Lady Knights are on the return leg of their southern trip and made a stop in Knoxville, Tennessee, the final game of the journey. KCU took on the Royals of Johnson University Tennessee and left campus with a 66-57 win.
Despite digging themselves another first quarter deficit (8 pts) and only reducing the lead by one point prior to halftime, the Lady Knights used a strong third quarter to take the lead and continued that inspired play through the fourth. When the dust had settled, KCU had outshot the Royals by .113 (.453-.340) from the floor and by .096 from the arc, where they were 6-14 for the night.
Offensively, Kentucky Christian was led by Jordan Holt’s fourth double-double of the season as she tallied 12 pts (2-7 fgs, 1-3 3-pts and 7-8 fts) and 10 rebounds. Sydney Foster pumped in 16 pts to lead KCU in the scoring column, claimed six rebounds and was credited with four assists. Also reaching double figures in scoring was Lexie Gilliland, who had 13 pts on 6-12 shooting with a 3-pointer. She also had four assists along with three rebounds.
The Lady Knights traveled to Midway University Tuesday to play the Eagles.
