The East Carter tennis team split Friday’s match with Morgan County. The boys’ team won 6-3 while the girls’ team fell, 7-2. Both teams ended the week 4-1 on the season.

Maria Hayes defeated Ally Kemplin, 8-1, for the Lady Raiders’ singles victory. The team of Hayes and Kailyn Conley defeated Kaleigh Murphy and Cora Beth Hammonds, 6-1, for the only win in doubles.

In singles, the boys’ team won 4-1. Lane Moudy defeated Liam Morgan 7- 6 with a tie breaker. During the tie breaker, Moudy won 7-3. Wilson Tomaselli beat Levi Hoskins, 6-3, Brant Harris beat Trent Daniel, 6-2, and Tanner Osborne defeated Jackson Elam, 6-1. Noah Sammons was beaten by McKenzie Daniel 8-3 and Shawn Greenhill lost to Dakota Salyer 8-4.

In doubles, the boys won 2-1. Sammons and Greenhill defeated Salyer and Morgan 8 -2, Moudy and Tanner Osborne beat Hoskins and Daniel, 6-1, and Harris and Gutierrez were beaten by Morgan and Jacen Gilliam, 6-2.
