The East Carter Tennis Team defeated Rose Hill in an early season match at the Ashland Tennis Center. The girls’ team snuck away with a 5-4 win while the boys swept the match 6-0.

In singles, the boys’ team went 4-0. Lane Moudy defeated Brett Woods, 8-2, Wilson Tomaselli defeated Andrew Woods, 8-2, Tanner Osborne swept Mason Fraizer, 6-0, and Venus Gutierrez defeated Christian Gutierrez, 6-4.

In doubles, the team of Shawn Greenhill and Noah Sammons beat the team of Brett and Andrew Woods, 8-0, and the team of Lane Moudy and Brant Harris defeated Mason Frazier and Davsonta Rios, 6-1.

The girls’ teams were tied in singles, each winning three sets. Maria Hayes defeated Delaynee Sparks, 8-1, Emma Moudy swept Raegan Wallace, 6-0 and Kaitlyn Conley swept Ashley Riffe, 6-0. Aliya Lewis lost to Ballamee Sparks, 8-6, Audrey Tackett got defeated by Eliza Crawford, 6-1, and Jessi Kaur fell to Hallie Barrido, 6-4.

The girls took the match in doubles besting Rose Hill, 3-2. The team of Lewis and Moudy defeated the team of Sparks and Lewis, 8-3, and the team of Hayes and Conley beat the team of Sparks and Riffe, 6-1. Tackett and Kaur lost to Crawford and Barrido, 6-4.
