Tyler Preston Dean, son of Clifton and Renita Dean of Grove City, Ohio, and grandson of Hobert and Sonja Dean of Olive Hill, has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Hiram College in Ohio.

He will be a pitcher for the Terriers in Spring 2020.

While in high school, Dean was an Academic Honor Roll student all four years, Student of the Quarter Award freshman year, National Honor Society of High School Students, Central Crossing High School Certificate of Scholarship, Student Council official fifth through 12th grade, Teen Eco Summit, Columbus Zoo, won financial stipend for high school, and varsity lettered in baseball and football.

Dean was awarded the Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award, Dean’s Scholarship and Honor’s Scholarship from Hiram College, and CCHS Athletic Boosters Volunteer Service Scholarship.

He will be a member of the Ohio Independence summer travel team before enrolling at Hiram.

Dean is pursuing a 3-2 Program Dual Degree in physics and mechanical engineering at Hiram College and Case Western.
