GRAYSON – Ashland collected 12 hits as left-hander Ryan Atkins silenced East Carter’s offense in a 14-3 rout on Friday at J.P. Kouns Field.

Atkins allowed just two hits as he walked four and fanned four.

Scott Busch celebrated his 18th birthday by going 2 for 3 with three runs.

Robbie Francis and Jacob Peach, two of Ashland’s leaders on the mound this season, did extensive damage at the plate. Francis was 2 for 4 with five RBIs and two runs. Peach went 2 for 4 with four RBIs.

Shawn Church added a pair of hits, two RBIs and scored twice. Richie Hall was 0 for 0 with three walks and four runs.

Evan Dickison went 3 for 5 with a run.

Ashland (11-5) will visit Boyd County on Tuesday. East Carter (7-10) is scheduled to face Clay County in the David Iery Foundation Showcase today at 12:30 p.m. at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington.
