The editor:

The Women Behind the Badge would like to thank all of those who donated to help make our 2nd Annual Santa’s Workshop a huge success. Thanks to your generosity, we received over 2,000 toys, books, games and puzzles, and we were able to help 223 children have a great Christmas. We would like to thank Super 8 Motel, Caribbean Sun, Carter County Sheriff’s Office, James Accounting, Pizza Shack, Buffalo Market, and the West Carter High School Administrative Office for serving as toy drop off locations.

We would like to thank the law enforcement officers from Carter County Sheriff’s Office, Grayson Police Department, Kentucky State Troopers, Worthington Police Department, and the Department of Corrections for donating your time to escort the children and families through Santa’s Workshop. A special thank you goes out to Kyle Morgan for bringing Santa and his “elf” to the workshop this year.

Along with all of the toys, books and puzzles, we also received donations to help us provide 43 Blessings baskets to needy families. We would like to thank Smithfield’s for donating hams for our food baskets, and Save-A-Lot for donating the food as well as Weaver’s Market for providing the bread.
