The editor:

Beating our biggest rival takes more than breakthrough research. It takes things like out 24/7 cancer help line and free rides to chemo. By joining the Relay For Life movement in our community, we can all help the American Cancer Society attack cancer from every angle.

Community volunteers are the backbone of this movement, and you can be part of it right here in Carter County through our local American Cancer Society Relay For Life event set for Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Shriners’ Horse Park in Olive Hill. I would love to see people from every part of our community get involved.

Funds raised help the American Cancer Society attack cancer in dozens of ways, each of them critical to achieving a world without cancer – from developing breakthrough therapies to building supportive communities, from providing empowering resources to deploying activists to raise awareness.

The next meeting of the Relay For Life of Carter County committee and teams is Thursday, August 23, 6 p.m. at Gregoryville Christian Church auditorium. Come out and join to help us make a difference.

Join me at our Relay For Life event! Visit Relay-ForLife.org or www.relayforlife.org/carterky to register or donate.

Sincerely,

Linda Arnett Co-Chair Relay For Life of Carter County
