At this season of giving, Grayson Meals on Wheels wishes to thank the Grayson community for their support during the past year. During 2017, the all volunteer organization will have delivered over 10,000 hot meals to the homes of Eastern Carter County residents. Each month about thirty-nine different individuals from our community willingly contribute their time and the use of their vehicles to deliver these meals on a Monday through Friday schedule to about forty people per day. Seventeen of these individuals drive two or more routes each month. Therefore, if you desire to help with this endeavor, consider being a monthly driver.
Grayson Meals on Wheels depends on donations to help cover the cost of the meals. Throughout the year the organization has been blessed by those in our community who gave generous one-time gifts and monthly financial support. Also, we have participated in local fund raising events that helped generate the $22,700 needed to cover the unmet cost of delivered meals. We wish to thank all who purchase our large hamburgers at the “Friday Car Shows.” Also, thanks to all who contributed to the annual “Bucket Brigade,” and our “March for Meals” Chamber of Commerce members' campaign. Again this year the funding from United Way of Northeast Kentucky was a great help in accomplishing our mission to our community.
If you would like to help us in our mission to provide low-cost or no-cost meals to the elderly with needs or those who are unable to prepare meals themselves, please send tax-deductible contributions to: Grayson Meals on Wheels
