GRAYSON – An Olive Hill man was recently indicted by the Carter County Grand Jury after court records indicate he shot another man.
Ernest Stevens, 77, was indicted on the charge of first-degree assault, a class B felony punishable by 10 to 20 years incarcerated, according to court records.
Stevens is accused of assaulting a man with a deadly weapon by “shooting him with a firearm” and causing serious physical injury. The incident occurred on Sept. 21, according to the Carter County Circuit Clerk's Office. The name of the victim is being withheld for their protection.
Stevens is not in custody and there is not yet an active warrant for his arrest, according to the Carter County Circuit Clerk's Office.
