Carter County Public Library

The Carter County Public Library Board of Trustees will begin meeting regularly on the first Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m., alternating between the Grayson and Olive Hill branches. Next meeting will be Monday, June 3 at 5:30 p.m. at the Grayson Branch.

Cemeteries

Pleasant Hill Cemetery, on 182, near Grahn, is accepting donations for upkeep of the cemetery and grass mowing. Donations for upkeep may be sent to the cemetery, c/o Barry Barker, 5771 Grahn Road, Olive Hill KY, 41164. If you have any questions, please call (606)286-8204. The Barkers thank those with loved ones in the cemetery who contribute to the upkeep.

The Hale Cemetery, on Smith Run, needs help from those who have loved ones resting there. Delores Hale Sarpas wishes to thank, “the one family who has always helped.”

Carroll Cemetery on Rattlesnake Ridge is now accepting donations for mowing and maintenance of the cemetery. Send donations to Lida Gilbert, 3395 Rattlesnake Ridge, Olive Hill, KY 41164.

Haney Cemetery, on Sutton, are in need of donations for cemetery upkeep. You may send donations to Ruth Haney, 117 East Main Street, Grayson.

H.E.L.P.

H.E.L.P. Health equipment for Local People is a new service here in Carter County. We are a nonprofit group to help get gently used medical equipment recycled and in the hands of those that need it. Also to help provide needed protein supplements, and adult briefs of all sizes to those with limited insurance coverage, especially the elderly. We need donations of wheelchairs, potty chairs, shower seats, walkers, lift chairs and medical supplies.

Some people can’t afford this or copay is to high.

The Greenup County Genealogy & Historical Society will hold their meeting at 7 p.m. in the Community Room at the Greenup Library. They will be showing a webinar called Getting the Most Out of Billions of Records on MyHeritage by Mike Mansfield. All meetings are open to the public.

Free HIV testing, Carter County Health Department, 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. No appointment necessary.

Northeast Kentucky Community Action Agency multi-employer job fair, First Church of Christ, Family Life Center, Grayson, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees should bring a driver's license and an up-to-date résumé.

Olive Hill Planning and Zoning Commission will meet in regular session at 10:30 a.m. in the office of the Olive Hill Center for Arts and Education, 120 Comet Drive.

HeART of the Parks Art Competition, Show and Sale, Memory Days Event, 11 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. in City Park, Carol Malone Blvd and Third Street.

18th Annual Dog Jog, Grayson Memory Days, 10 a.m. Event starts at Veterans Park, on Main Street. Registration is $15 and includes a t-shirt for the human and a bandana for dogs.
