Feed Your Brain Summer Reading and Food Program

Carter County Public Library's Feed Your Brain summer reading program will run from June 18 – July 19, at both the Grayson and Olive Hill branches. Reading program, for children from Kindergarten to Fifth Grade, is from Noon to 1:30 each day. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. each day, for anyone up to age 18 through the federal food program. Library will not be open on July 4 or July 18.

H.E.L.P.

H.E.L.P. Health equipment for Local People is a new service here in Carter County. We are a non-profit group to help get gently used medical equipment recycled and in the hands of those that need it. Also to help provide needed protein supplements, and adult briefs of all sizes to those with limited insurance coverage, especially the elderly. We need donations of wheelchairs, potty chairs, shower seats, walkers, lift chairs and medical supplies. Some people can’t afford this or copay is to high. H.E.L.P. Cemeteries

Pleasant Hill Cemetery, on 182, near Grahn, is accepting donations for upkeep of the cemetery and grass mowing. Donations for upkeep may be sent to the cemetery, c/o Barry Barker, 5771 Grahn Road, Olive Hill KY, 41164. If you have any questions, please call (606)286-8204. The Barker's thank those with loved ones in the cemetery who contribute to the upkeep.

The Hale Cemetery, on Smith Run, needs help from those who have loved ones resting there. Delores Hale Sarpas wishes to thank, “the one family who has always helped.”

Carroll Cemetery on Rattlesnake Ridge is now accepting donations for mowing and maintenance of the cemetery. Send donations to Lida Gilbert, 3395 Rattlesnake Ridge, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
