GRAYSON – A Grayson man was indicted by the grand jury recently after court records indicate he sexually abused a child under the age of 12.

Wayne Sexton, 39, of Grayson was indicted by the Carter County Grand Jury on the charge of first-degree sexual abuse, a class C felony, according to court records.

Sexton is accused of subjecting a child under the age of 12 to sexual contact, according to court records.

The charge carries a sentence if convicted of five to 10 years incarcerated. The name of the victim is being withheld for the child’s protection.

Sexton was arrested by the Carter County Sheriff’s Department on the charge and was lodged at the Carter County Detention Center. Sexton posted bail for $10,000 cash and has been released from custody.
