MOREHEAD - An Olive Hill man and woman were arrested Friday afternoon on the Morehead Wal-Mart parking lot after a bystander allegedly observed someone snorting pills.

Ralph Lawhorn, 36, and Janice Phillips, 30, were arrested and charged with drug possession after police discovered various types of medication in the vehicle.

Capt. Mike Adams said the call came into police about 1:20 p.m.

“We received the complaint and that’s when Officer Erik Caudill went out and interviewed both individuals,” Adams told the local media. “We did find different medications that were not in proper containers.”

Lawhorn was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, controlled substance not in a proper container and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Phillips was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, controlled substance not in a proper container and second-degree possession of a controlled substance.



The case remains under investigation by Erik Caudill who was assisted at the scene by patrolmen Mike Curtis and Tommy Jones.
