The Grayson Gallery & Art Center will present its annual photography exhibit "ALL Photography/Digital Show & Sale" with an opening reception for artists and the public on Sept. 28 from 6 to 9 pm, during the monthly Grayson F!nal Fr!days Art Walk.
Up to 25 artists will show more than 75 original works in analog and digital photography, along with other digital mediums and presentations printed on metal and wrapped-canvas as well as traditionally framed pieces.
Live entertainment will be provided by the Laid Back Country Picker band, a fast-rising group of musicians headed up by David Prince of Lawrence County, Kentucky. Their hit song "Magoffin County Cadillac" has been of particular interest to music fans across the Eastern Kentucky region of Appalachia.
Born into a bluegrass and country loving family where "only the Stanley Brothers and Flatt & Scruggs were played (unless it was Johnny Cash or Gene Tracy)," says Prince, he was Influenced by country music from the 60s and 70s. "...when it meant something." Tunes are available under the Hickman Holler record label.
Prince also states "I'm just trying to play some good country music and treat everybody right."
There will be Awards & Announcements presented around 7:45 during which the Peoples Choice award (the favorite piece as chosen by visitors' popular vote), the GGAC Board Choice and the Brandon Click Memorial award, each at $50.00, will be given. Refreshments will be provided by Friends of the Gallery, and the event is free to the public with donations appreciated.
