A Veterans Benefits Field Representative will be at the Carter County Courthouse in Grayson from 9 a.m. - Noon to provide veterans and their dependents with assistance in filing for Federal and State veterans' benefits. The service is provided free of charge by the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs. To apply, veterans need to furnish copies of pertinent documentation to verify eligibility. To schedule an appointment, call toll-free at 1-866-244-8970 to speak with your Veterans Benefits Field Representative.

Funtober Fest t-shirt logo contest

The 2019 Funtober Fest t-shirt logo design contest is now accepting submissions. All work must be the original work of the artist or designer, and all 2D mediums are accepted. Size may be 8.5” x 11” or 14” x 17”, with up to three designs per artists accepted. Artists may use no more than six colors in their design. Final design approval will be made by the Funtober Fest Committee, with the winner receiving $25 and an official Funtober Fest t-shirt. Deadline for entries is Noon, August 21. Entries may be mailed to the Grayson Rotary Club, 500 Lynnwood Drive, Grayson, KY 41143 or emailed to heartoftheparks@windstream.net.

H.E.L.P.

H.E.L.P. Health equipment for Local People is a new service here in Carter County. We are a non-profit group to help get gently used medical equipment recycled and in the hands of those that need it. Also to help provide needed protein supplements, and adult briefs of all sizes to those with limited insurance coverage, especially the elderly. We need donations of wheelchairs, potty chairs, shower seats, walkers, lift chairs and medical supplies. Some people can’t afford this or copay is to high. H.E.L.P.
