Hope Brown Middle School Christmas Classic held

The middle school basketball teams from West and East tipped off action in the John ‘Hop’ Brown Christmas Classic last Friday night in the West Carter Middle School gym. And the local seventh and eighth-graders combined for a 2-2 opening-night effort.....more>>

  • West soccer crushes Fleming
    Katie Thompson drilled three goals past the Fleming County keeper and a total of four Lady Comets scored as West Carter collected its first black-and-white ball victory of the season with a 6-1 triumph in Flemingsburg. The win last Wednesday puts the Comets at 1-5-1 overall.

    After a slow start, West Carter packed 24 points into the second quarter then went on to win for the first time this season.

    West Carter scored five runs in the first and five in the sixth on its way to a 13-6 win over 16th region rival Menifee County, last Monday. In the win, the Comets’ sixth on the season, the hosts cracked the Wildcat pitchers for a dozen hits.

    West Carter rallied the bats in a big-stick win over Augusta over the weekend, but the Comet offense was completely extinguished in a lopsided loss to Bath County on Monday.
