The Kentucky Christian University Lady Knights basketball team traveled to the home of the Grenadiers of Indiana University Southeast to get revenge from a 22-point home loss last November.
But it was to no avail as IUS used their home court advantage to spoil KCU’s bid by defeating them 73-63.
The Lady Knights made seven three-point shots, four more than their opponents, but couldn’t overcome the additional 10 makes from the charity stripe to pull off the road win. The Grenadiers outshot KCU from the field .452-.394 and outrebounded them by nine in a game that Kentucky Christian would never lead.
KCU placed three players in double figures and ironically enough, all three scored 16 points. Lexie Gilliland led the way with her second double-double of the week by adding 10 rebounds to her point total. She was 6-11 from the field with three made 3s. Joining Gilliland with 16-pts was Sydney Foster and Shelby Slone. Narrowly missing double figures was Jordan Holt as she chipped in nine points and eight rebounds to go with her two assists and two steals.
