The editor:

Never was I more proud of our East Carter High School, than when reading the front page stories that it was the highest scoring school in our nine school region of Northeast Kentucky. It was first in academic achievement and graduation rate, college readiness and classification scoring of Distinguished/Progressing.

We owe sincere thanks to the principals, counselors, teachers and staff at East Carter. My wife and I have seen all three children graduate East Carter and go on to earn five degrees. Even more importantly my wife and I have seen a number of our foster children who arrived quite deficient in their education worked with by counselors and teachers after hours and even on Saturdays to be able to graduate high school, sever being the first in their birth families to graduate high school. A big thank you to you all.
