02/04/2013 — Mrs. Mary Lou Vanlandingham Waugh, 83, of Olive Hill, passed away Monday morning, Feb. 4, 2013, at her residence with her daughter Sherry and grandson Woodrow by her side.
She was born May 10, 1929, in Carter County, a daughter of the late A. B. and Pearl Phillips Vanlandingham.
Mary Lou was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles Hayden Waugh; two daughters, Jennifer Waugh and Lesa Skaggs; four grandchildren, Steve Waugh, Jeffery Shane Mauk, Marlane Mauk and Kevin Johnson; five brothers, Homer Vanlandingham, Kermit Vanlandingham, Frank Vanlandingham, Arthur Vanlandingham, and Oscar Vanlandingham; and one sister, Bertha Murphy.
Mary Lou is survived by three sons, Chanie (Janet) Waugh and Jeff (Linda) Waugh, all of Olive Hill, and Doug (Julie) Waugh of Maysville; seven daughters, Carol (James) Rice, Conechia (Bossie) Johnson, Retha Mauk, Belva Schumacher and Lou Jordan, all of Grayson, Dawn (Tommy) Mauk of Flemingsburg and Sherry Waugh of Olive Hill; 31 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Bobby Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Vanlandingham Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, and until the service hour Wednesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Tommy Himes, Willie Mauk, Jonathan Waugh, Chris Schumacher, Kevin McGlone and Jesse Kees will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Wes Waugh, Woodrow Waugh, Shane Elam and Danny Rice.
