02/04/2013 — Opal Cooper, 94, of Lower Grassy, passed away Feb. 1, 2013, at her residence.
Opal was born July 11, 1918, the daughter of the late Alfred and Adeline (Warnock) Frazier.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. (Jim) Cooper; two sons, Howard Glen and Edward Winston Cooper; two sisters, Eunice Simmons and Julie Smith; and six brothers, Hubert, Jimmy, Roland, Earl, Russell and Sam Frazier.
She was a farm homemaker and mother.
She is survived by four sons, James A. Cooper of Grayson, Dempsey Cooper of Ft. Meade, Fla., Gary Cooper, of Mansfield, Ohio, and Don (Melissa) Cooper of Olive Hill; two daughters, Mary (Bill) Carper of Grayson and Loretta Davis of Mansfield, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson with Bud Burnett, minister. Burial will follow at the Cooper Cemetery on Cooper Ridge.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 at the funeral home.
