Mrs. Sue Ann "Susie" Sturgill Parker, 65, of Grahn, fell asleep in the arms of Jesus Monday evening, November 26, 2012, in the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

She was born July 9, 1947, in Grahn, a daughter of the late Charlie Andrew Sturgill and Bethel Brown Sturgill Barker.

Susie was a member of the Grahn Hill Freewill Baptist Church. At the last church service she was able to attend, she asked the church to come to the front and sing two of her favorite songs with her, "Stroll Over Heaven with You" and "It’s a Little Church". She loved her church family dearly and enjoyed being with them any chance she could. Susie was a volunteer at the Grahn Community Center and a member of the Grahn Homemakers Club.  She was a sweet, beautiful, compassionate person who loved everyone and had a way of making everyone she came in contact with feel very special.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Sturgill, Charles Alcus "Alkie" Sturgill and Kenneth Wade Sturgill; and two sisters, Vandetta Cox and Martine James.
