04-19-12 — Raymond E. Knipp, 76, of Grayson, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 24, 2012, in Ashland Hospice Care Center.
He was born January 10, 1936, in Carter County, a son of the late Jonathan and Virginia Knipp. Raymond was retired from Ashland Fabrication and Welding. He was a deacon and founding member of Mayhew Flat Community Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Elwood Knipp.
His survivors include, his wife of 59 years, Lecta Skaggs Knipp; one son, Anthony “Tony” (Barbara) Knipp of Grayson; one daughter, Angela (Ed) Rice of Grayson; two sisters, Faye Evans of Bruin and Lucille Parsons of Sandy Hook; one brother, Arnold Knipp of Grove City, Ohio; five grandchildren, Tonia Tussey, Lorey Knipp, Stacy Stamper, Adam Rice and Ryan Rice; nine great-grandchildren; and many family and friends that will mourn his passing greatly.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Steven Keyes officiating. Burial will be in East Carter County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday after 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
