04-19-12 — Mrs. Blanche Catherine Powell Mauk, 92, of Ollie Ridge Road, Olive Hill, passed away Saturday morning, November 17, 2012, at her daughter’s residence.
She was born August 1, 1920, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a daughter of the late Joshua and Nancy Jane Hickman Powell.
Blanche was a homemaker and former employee of Carter Caves State Park. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Mauk; one grandson, Michael Mauk; one great granddaughter, Victoria Mauk; one brother, Elisha Powell; infant sister, Margaret Elizabeth Powell; sister and brother-in-law who helped raise her, Mary Frances and Albert Justice; and a niece who was like a sister to her, Helen Justice.
Blanche is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ernest Jr. and Mary Ann Mauk of Columbus, Ohio; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jeanie and Ollie Boggs of Olive Hill, Sylvia and Earcel James of Mansfield, Ohio, and Marylyn Conn of Olive Hill; four stepdaughters and their husbands, Sue and Don Bush of Grayson, Barbara and John Keimer of Florida, Esther and Bill O‘Neal of Florida, and Earnestine and Jim Guntrum of Tennessee; nine grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2012, at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill with Pastor Larry Joe Ruley officiating. A graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at the Boggs Family Cemetery in Grahn.
Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2012, at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home, 145 Gearhart Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
