04-19-12 — Carolyn Lee Holcomb Myers, former resident of Olive Hill, passed away Thursday, November 1, in Atlanta, Ga. She was a member of the Olive Hill Christian Church.
Mrs. Myers was a teacher at Olive Hill High School until 1965 when she moved to Philadelphia, Penn. There she became a professor of Business at Delaware County Community College in suburban Philadelphia until she retired in 1986 and moved to Atlanta to be near her two daughters. While in Atlanta she achieved Life Master Status in the American Contract Bridge League.
She was born May 15, 1925, at King's Daughters Hospital in Ashland. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nora Hall Holcomb, and her father, William Earl Holcomb, both of Grayson; and two brothers, William Earl and Everett Tye Holcomb.
Mrs. Myers is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Myers Skelton (Gary), and Nora Myers Scherer (Andrew); two granddaughters, Taylor Suzanne Skelton and Elizabeth Holcomb Scherer; her beloved dog “Tootsie”; two nieces, Carole Ann Holcomb Masters and Billie Karen Holcomb Absher; four great-nephews; one great-great nephew; one great-great niece; several cousins; and many friends.
Services will be in Grayson at a later date to be announced.
