9/9/13 — Bobby Gayle Knipp, 74, of Olive Hill, passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 8, 2013, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Bobby was born Aug. 4, 1939, in Carter County, the son of the late Earl and Margarett Knipp.
Bobby was member of the Nazarene Church of Olive Hill and worked at Johns Manville Inc. in Richmond, Ind., as a journeyman electrician and was president of Local Union No. 1047 for two years. He served four years for his country in the United States Air Force.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Beverly Knipp Lawson.
Bobby is survived by one son, Tony Knipp of Olive Hill; one daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Shawn Hardy of Nicholasville; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Gary and Ruth Knipp and Roger and Ellie Knipp, all of Olive Hill; one sister, Joyce Boggs of Dayton, Ohio; one grandchild, Megan Hardy of Nicholasville; and his beloved dog, Micky. He also leaves behind other family members who will sadly miss him.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at the Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother James Muncy officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Olive Hill American Legion Post No. 138.
Friends may visit from 11 a.m. and until the service hour Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Justin Lawson, Jason Knipp, Marty Stallard, Derek Lawson, Nick Hedge and Kyle Lawson will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care Center, 2330 Pollard Avenue, Ashland, KY 41101.
