Shirley Sparks Creech

8/19/13 — Shirley Sparks Creech, 76, of Niles, Ohio, formerly of Olive Hill, departed this life on the wings of angels, on Saturday, Aug. 10, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio, following an extended illness.

Mrs. Creech was born March 7, 1937, in Olive Hill, the daughter of the late Willie L. and Vesta Brown Sparks. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, John Ellwood Creech, on Dec. 8, 1992; an infant daughter, Tamela; and a brother-in-law, Ernest Burton.

Shirley was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed singing and playing horseshoes, corn hole and bingo. Her greatest gift in life was her big heart filled with love for her family and friends who will miss her dearly.

She leaves five daughters and three sons, Kathy Jones of Florida and Karen Harrington, Sharon Creech, Rhonda Paulik, Crystal Creech, John Wayne Creech, Shawn Creech and Mark Creech, all of Niles, Ohio. In addition to her 11 great-grandchildren, Shirley leaves nine grandchildren, Shane Jones of Florida and Jonathan Creech, Keith Henderson, David Paulik, Stacy Paulik, Cameron Creech, Erica Baughman, Nicole Baughman and Travis Creech, also of Niles.

Shirley is also survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Audrey Goodman and Coy of Berlin Center, Ohio, Virginia Burton of Olive Hill and Stella Patton and Everett of Olive Hill. She is survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law, Willie L. and Marjorie Sparks of McDonald, Ohio, Warr Lamar and Martha Sparks of Niles, Ohio, and William Flint and Rosa Sparks of Cambridge, Ohio.

Funeral services were Aug. 14 at the Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown, Ohio, by the Rev. Gary McCartney. Interment was in the Kerr Cemetery, Weatherfield Township, Niles, Ohio. Her grandsons served as pallbearers.
