3/19/14 — Tamara Gillum, 47, of Grayson, passed away March 18, 2014, at the Markey Cancer Center in Lexington.
She was born Aug. 5, 1966, in Ashland, to Myrtle Faye Dickerson Kitchen of Grayson and the late Van Kitchen Jr.
Tamara was a hairdresser and a nurse. She was a 1984 graduate of East Carter High School and a 1987 graduate of Ashland Community and Technical College with a degree in cosmetology. She also earned a Nursing degree in 1999 from Rowan County Technical College. She was of Christian faith.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gregory Van Kitchen.
She is survived by two sons, David Ray Gillum of Sandy Hook and Troy Scott Fannin of Sandy Hook; one brother, Tim Kitchen of Shelbyville, Tenn.; and two sisters, a twin, Terri Kitchen Tique of Grayson and Tarice Kitchen Sloas of Grayson.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Sparks Funeral Home with Randy Binion, minister. Burial will follow at East Carter County Memory Gardens in Grayson.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at Sparks Funeral Home.
