9/13/13 — Myra Lou Wells Erwin, 71, of Olive Hill, entered into rest early Thursday morning, Sept. 12, 2013, at her residence in Olive Hill after an extended illness.
She was born Nov. 18, 1941, in Carter County, a daughter of the late John Franklin and Eva Lee Staggs Wells.
Myra attended First Christian Church in Olive Hill and had retired from Maloney’s and Allen’s IGA. She enjoyed her flowers, reading, spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, shopping with her sister and her four-legged baby, Tucker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Bradley Erwin in 2005; two brothers, John Allen Wells and Harold Gene Wells; and three sisters, Minta Irene Wells Wilburn, Mary Jacqueline Wells and Lula Faye Wells.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Keith Bradley and Lori Erwin of Hopewell; one daughter, Kathy Jo Erwin of Olive Hill, one granddaughter, Madison Storm Erwin of Moon; one grandson, Elijah Keith Erwin of Hopewell; one sister, Janice Wells Mabry of Olive Hill; sister-in-law, Helen (Erwin) and Bennie Seagraves of Richmond; brother-in-law, Dennie Wilburn of Carter County; a dear friend, Phyllis Maddix; and her constant companion and guardian, Tucker. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, her church family and many others who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill with Brother David Gee officiating. Burial will follow in the Jr. O.U.A.M. Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home, 145 Gearhart Street, in Olive Hill.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
