10/17/13 — Eulah Pearl Lowe James, 93, of Olive Hill, passed away Wednesday morning, Oct. 16, 2013, at Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson.
She was born April 7, 1920, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Warren and Mary Ann Rose Lowe.
Eulah had been a Christian for 66 years and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ since 1947. She was a lifelong homemaker and enjoyed canning, quilting, doing yard work, being outdoors and going to church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John Samuel James; one daughter, Betty June James; two brothers, William Lowe and Kermit Lowe; and two sisters, Helen Williams and Geraldine Owens.
Eulah is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Tommy Barker of Olive Hill; two grandchildren, Thomas Ryan Barker and wife Tammy and Melissa Ann Kidd and husband Ashley; four great-grandchildren, Matthew Christian Kidd and wife Ashley, Dylan Ryan Barker, Mark Daniel Kidd and Baylor Paige Kidd; one great-great grandchild due in January; one brother, Benson Lowe of Mt. Sterling; and two sisters, Heldreth Webb of Muncie, Ind., and Wilma Jean Montgomery of Ottawa, Tenn. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Tommy Barker and Brother Bobby Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, and until the service hour Saturday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Matt Kidd, Dylan Barker, Jack Lowe, Blaine Webb, Warren Owens and Steve Owens will serve as pallbearers.
