08/23/2012 — Mrs. Donna Faye Leadingham Owens, 74, of Rayburn Fork Road in Vanceburg, passed away Tuesday morning, October 2, 2012, at her residence.

She was born July 1, 1938, in Grahn, a daughter of the late Mackie Leadingham and the late Nellie Brown Leadingham Porter.

Donna was of the Christian faith and was a Kentucky Colonel. She was retired from St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead where she worked as a Senior Nursing Assistant with over 20 years of service. Donna loved singing and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Stephanie Bate; one infant grandson, Zachary Stevens; grandson, Zachary Shoemaker; one son-in-law, Ronnie Lawson; two brothers, Gomez Leadingham and James Mackie Leadingham; and three sisters, Berleda Stevens, Glenna Jean Evans and Shelia Kay Kiser.

Donna is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donald Jewett Owens; one son, Toby Owens and his wife Angela of Vanceburg; three daughters, Jatonda Thompson and her husband Joby and Jennifer Lawson, all of Olive Hill, and Angela Owens and Kavon Bocook of Vanceburg; six grandchildren, Bethany (Mike) Jesse, Adam Owens, Joshua (Jessica) Thompson, Anthony Brown, Arron Owens and Kyle Kimbler; two great grandchildren, Olivia Grace Thompson and Bryan Matthew Thompson; one brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Gail Leadingham of Lilburn, Ga.; six sisters and four brothers-in-law, Rita and Clifford Roe of Olive Hill, Alberta and Tommy Craycraft of Lexington, Alice and Rod Kegley of Mableton, Ga., Sharon and Don Frazier of Grahn, and Connie Lemon and Vickie Mosier, both of Olive Hill. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2012, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Phillip Roe and Brother Hansel Butler officiating. Burial followed in the Owens Cemetery on Rayburn Fork in Lewis County.

Friends visited from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2012, and until the service hour at 2 p.m. on Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.

Kavon Bocook, Joby Thompson, Mike Jessee, Joshua Thompson, Adam Owens and Anthony Brown served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer was Arron Owens.
