03/19/13 — Marietta Marcella Lowe Lowe, 85, of Olive Hill, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 16, 2013, in Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson.
She was born Sunday, Nov. 27, 1927, in Carter County, a daughter of the late William "Bill" and Ethel Burchett Lowe.
Marcella was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church. She retired from the Carter County School System where she taught in Grahn for 29 years. She loved crafts, paintings and her pet dogs. She especially loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Arlie Lowe; two brothers, Houston Lowe and Harold Lowe; and six sisters, Iris Humphry, Noreen Durham, Colleen Lawson, Milderd Clark, Geraldine Lowe and Emma Lou Tucker.
Marcella is survived by two sons, Kenneth Earl Lowe of Mulvane, Kan., and Lloyd Houston Lowe of Olive Hill; one daughter, Sharon Arlene Lowe Haywood of Ashland; five grandchildren, Jason Haywood and Andrew Haywood, both of Ashland, David Rayburn of Olive Hill, Jimmy Lowe of Kansas and Melissa of Ohio; and 12 great grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members, church family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother J. C. Bond and Brother Randy Binion officiating. Burial will follow in the Lowe Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, and until the service hour Wednesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
