Delbert Wayne Coburn

April 09, 2012 — Delbert Wayne Coburn, 75, passed away Saturday, April 7 at Carter Nursing & Rehab Center in Grayson following a long illness.

He was born May 20, 1936 in Greenup County, a son of the late Emmitt and Doris Scott Coburn. He was employed as a truck driver by Ross Construction  Company and a member of Teamsters Local #175 & 505, out of Charleston, W.Va.

He was a member of the Hopewell Holiness Mission where he loved to sing and testify for the Lord. He also loved spending time with his elkhound “Meeko”. In addition to his  parents, he was preceded in death by two sons; Scott Coburn and Anthony Coburn, a sister, Helen Martin and a granddaughter, Kimberly Basham.He is survived by his wife of  28 years, Faye “Shug”” Mullins Coburn, one son, Michael (Christine) Coburn of Grayson, two step-sons; Douglas (Carolyn “C.J.”)  Basham of Crocker, Missouri and Stephen (Hazel)Basham of Flatwoods, two brothers; Bobby (Patty) Coburn and Roger (Linda) Coburn, all of Grayson, three granddaughters, Tiler Coburn, Elyssa Faith and Trinity Makeal Coburn all of Grayson and one grandson of Flatwoods, Jerod Michael Coburn; step-grandchildren Patty (Chris) Sandt and their two children, of Ft. Bragg, Ronnie (Summer ) Pendleton & their two children of Owingsville, Missouri,  and Ray “Sparkie” White of Crocker, Missouri.

He will be sadly missed by his church family of 25 years, his other family members, friends, and neighbors.

Funeral services will be conducted at Sparks Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 11, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Coburn-Hall Cemetery at Hopewell. Friends may call after 6:00 pm Tuesday, April 10 and after 9:00 am Wednesday morning at Sparks Funeral Home.
