01/02/13 — Vess Gollihue, 74, of Denton, passed away December 25, 2012, at his residence.
He was born October 24, 1938, the son of Raymond and Ruby Adkins Gollihue.
Vess was of the Baptist faith. He worked at Kentucky Electric Steel for 36 years and was a foreman at the Melt Shop for 25 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Gollihue.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Hamilton Gollihue; two sons, Jason Gollihue and Jim “Bub”(Janet) Gollihue, all of Denton; one daughter, Vanessa (John) McDowell of Raceland; two brothers, Frank (Fran) Gollihue of Grayson and Burnice Gollihue of Pittsburg, Penn.; two sisters, Faye Castle of Grayson and Mary Alice Chaffin of Vermillion, Ohio; two granddaughters, Sarah and Savannah; and his four-legged children, Harley, Abby 1, Abby 2 and Benny.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, December 28, at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson with Clell Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in East Carter County Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
