04/30/14 — Kenneth Ray Wilson, 72, of Olive Hill, passed away Tuesday evening, April 29, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.
He was born Sept. 13, 1941, in Carter County, a son of the late Woodrow and Hazel Crank Wilson.
Kenneth was of the Christian faith and retired from the Carter County Board of Education after teaching at Hitchins Elementary School for many years. He enjoyed working in his garden and flowers and spending time in the woods.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by one brother, Harlan Wilson.
Kenneth is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dewey and Jean Wilson of Olive Hill and Larry and Wendy Wilson of Gregoryville; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Alice and Wayne Clark of Gregoryville; and four nephews, Nick Wilson, Mike Wilson, Link Wilson and Kyle Wilson. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Lewis Davis and Brother George Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery at Gregoryville.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, and until the service hour Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Mike Wilson, Nick Wilson, Kyle Wilson, Phillip Plummer, Wayne Clark and Tim Wilson will serve as pallbearers.
