04/09/14 — Watt Edward Johnson, 69, of Grayson, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born Oct. 24, 1944, at Johns Run, a son of the late John E. and Beulah Mae Suttles Johnson.
Watt was a retired bus driver and custodian with the Carter County School System, former employee of General Refractories in Hitchins and attended the Fellowship Christian Baptist Church. He was a member of the Hitchins Crime Watch and enjoyed tinkering with small engines in his spare time.
In addition to his parents, Watt was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Johnson and Charlie Johnson; two grandsons, Eddie Jo Johnson and Matthew David Phillips; granddaughter, Piper Johnson; and a son in law, Harold Blake Henry.
His survivors include his caretaker, Georgia Yarger Johnson of Grayson; three sons, Randy Lee Johnson of Hitchins, John Franklin (Tina) Johnson of Hitchins and Phillip Edward (Jessica) Johnson of Vanceburg; four daughters, Tammy Jo Henry of Hitchins, Brenda (Darrell) Daniels of Rush, Jackie (Randy) Phillips of Olive Hill and Juanita (Justin) Thornsbury of Grayson; one stepson, Chad Hall of Hitchins; two sisters, Alberta McKinney of Hitchins and Lorene Kiser of Grayson; 14 grandchildren, Shane, Ricky, Dusty, Brandon, Bryan and Alyssa Johnson, Jayda Daniels, Aaron and Janice Henry, Megan Blevins, Braxton Gussler, Ashley, Kayla and Cheyanne Phillips; and five great-grandchildren, Isaiah Johnson, Bradley Ratcliff, Kendra and Ethan Douglas and Brooklyn Vance.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at the Malone Funeral Home with Bryan Whitt and Morris Shearer officiating. Burial will be in the Edison Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday evening, April 11, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday after 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
