Lucille M. Demory


04/15/14 — Lucille M. Demory, 84, of Winchester, passed away on April 14, 2014, at Baptist Health Hospital.

Lucille was born in Rockport, Texas, on April 25, 1929, to the late John and Adah Young. She grew up in Texas and moved to Winchester in 2008 by way of Indiana and Grayson.  She enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking, reading, bingo and putting puzzles together.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ross E. Demory; sister, Eloise Harrist; two brothers, Lee Roy Young and Eugene Young; and a granddaughter, Christine Wolf. 

She is survived by her four daughters, Ada (Wayne) Gamelin of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., Annette Demory of Mansfield, Texas, Jeanette (Grayson) Hodges of Quitman, Texas, and Sherry (Jim) Woodrum of Winchester; four nieces and two nephews; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014, at Rose Mary C. Brooks Place by Pastor Kenny Speaks. 

In lieu of flowers, Lucille requested memorial contributions be made to the Bagby Memorial UMC Youth Group, 201 N. Hord Street,  Grayson, KY 41143; Markey Cancer Foundation, 800 Rose Street,  No. 160, Lexington, KY 40536; and/or Rose Mary C. Brooks Place, 200 Rosemary Drive, Winchester, KY 40391.

Scobee Funeral Home in Winchester is in charge of arrangements.
