3/12/14 — William Watson “Bud” Riffe, 93, of Webbville, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born Sept. 22, 1920, in Carter County, a son of the late Walden Ray and Belva Lawson Riffe.
Bud was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Horton Riffe in 2006; one son, John Riffe; one daughter, Claudia Roseberry; one brother, Ray Riffe Jr.; and two sisters, Glenna Rice and Louise Riffe.
He was a retired farmer, equipment operator and co-owner of Riffe Brothers Farm Machinery for 29 years. Bud was a U.S. WWII Marine Veteran and member of the Willard Missionary Baptist Church, the Willard Masonic Lodge F. & A.M. No. 626 and the Willard American Legion.
His survivors include four sons, William “Bill” (Diane) Riffe of Rush, Jeffrey L. (Herma) Riffe, Robert J. “Bob” (Vicky) Riffe and Charles W. (Rox Ann) Riffe, all of Webbville; two daughters, Debbie (Bobby) Russell of Lawrenceburg and Judy (Jerry) Porter of Grayson; one brother, Charles H. (Margie) Riffe of Webbville; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Ronnie Graves officiating. Burial will be in the Riffe Family Cemetery.
Graveside military rites will be conducted by the U.S. Marines and the East Carter Jr. R.O.T.C.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday evening, March 13, and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
