3/10/14 — Ruth Dean Huffman Marshall, 99, lifetime resident of Ashland, died Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Kingsbrook Life Care Center.

Ruth was born March 14, 1914, the daughter Edgar and Bertha Dean Huffman of Grayson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harve Marshall, and only child, a son, Russell Huffman.

Ruth had two sisters, Clairce Stewart and Hazel Sieg, both of New Albany, Ind.; three brothers, Robert Huffman of Wheelersburg, Ohio, and Ralph Huffman and Kenneth Huffman, both of Grayson; four grandchildren; numerous loving and thoughtful nieces and nephews; many kind and supportive in-laws; and a wealth of neighbors and friends, especially the residents of Kingsbrook and staff.

Ruth was a devoted Christian and lived her life for the Lord! During her life she believed in working hard! Among her many jobs as a homemaker, she also worked as a nurse’s aide at King’s Daughters Hospital, waitress at a coffee shop, clerk at Murphy’s 5 & 10 and clerk at Heck’s Department Store.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Malone Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, officiated by Earl Marshall. Burial will be at the Huffman Family Cemetery at Iron Hill.
