3/10/14 — Elva Joseph Duncan, 95, of Olive Hill, passed away Friday evening, March 7, 2014, at his residence.
He was born May 15, 1918, in Carter County, a son of the late Benton and Edie Jane Fultz Duncan.
Elva was a member of the Mt. Zion United Baptist Church and retired from Case Inc. where he was a machine mechanic.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Elva is survived by his wife of 75 years, Edna Fyfe Duncan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Connie Duncan and William Michael and Shawn Duncan; two grandchildren, William Benton Duncan and Katherine Jean Duncan-Simon; one great-granddaughter, Hannah Simon; and one brother, Homer Earl Duncan. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Johnny Seagraves and Brother Paul Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Hale Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
