Tilden "Pete" Perry

1932-2013

6/19/13 — Tilden "Pete" Perry, 81, of Olive Hill, passed away Monday evening, June 17, 2013, at the Community Hospice Center in Ashland.

He was born April 14, 1932, in Carter County, a son of the late Robert and Sena Nolan Perry.

Pete was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed hunting ginseng and yellow root. He loved going to church, visiting with his neighbors and helping people. He was known by the younger generation as "Uncle Pete". Halloween was always a special time for the youngsters because they knew Uncle Pete would have plenty for them.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Austie Perry, Mayo Perry and Arthur Perry, and three sisters, Nellie Perry, Maxine Perry and Juanita Floro.

Pete is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James and Linda Perry of Mansfield, Ohio; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Roy Willitzer of Defiance, Ohio, and Deborah and Donald Varner of Whitehouse, Ohio; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Louie and Brenda Perry of Mansfield, Ohio, and Monty and Christine Perry of Tiro, Ohio; one sister, Anita Wells of Olive Hill; a very special friend, Darlene Sparks, and her daughter, Mary Sparks, both of Greenup County; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2013, at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill with Brother Randy Binion officiating. Burial will follow in the Henderson Cemetery on Route 59 in Olive Hill.

Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013, and until the service hour Friday at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home, 145 Gearhart Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
