05/20/13 — Robert Dewey “R.D.” Bush, 74, of Grayson, passed away Wednesday, May 15, at the Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Robert was born June 22, 1938, in Carter County, son of the late Roy Vernon and Flora Gibson Bush.
Robert was owner of Bush’s Floral Cottage for over 20 years. He was a member of the Stinson Church of Christ, Trimble Lodge No. 145, Grayson Chapter No. 10 O.E.S., American Legion Post No. 342 in Willard, and was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army.
Robert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pelma Rucker Bush; three children, Debra (Jim) Suttles, Roy Bush and Tammy (Michael) Middleton; eight grandchildren, Hollie (Chris) Campbell, Jeremy (Ashley) Suttles, Jarrod (Callie) Bush, Anthony Carter, Nicola (David) Bond, Blake Flannery, Izak Flannery and Harley Middleton; six great-grandchildren, Ella, Abbey, Izabella, Grace, Brady, Charly and one on the way; a sister, Mary Lou (Bill) Perry; a brother, Ernie Bush; five sisters-in-law, Laverne Bush, Delma (Rex) McCoy, Wilma (Sherman) Menix, Aline (Gilbert) Shaffer and Pauline Miller; and a brother-in-law, Bill (Carol) Rucker, all of Grayson.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Wells; a brother, Vernon Bush; a brother in-law, Ralph Stephenson; and a granddaughter, Amanda Jane Suttles.
A private graveside service was Friday, May 17, at the East Carter County Memory Gardens.
Visitation was from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at the Malone Funeral Home, with a time of remembrance service at 7:30 p.m. that night.
