7/15/13 — Monnie Mae Flannery, 71, of Sandy Hook, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 14, 2013, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born April 20, 1942, in Morgan County, a daughter of the late Thurman and Anna Sparks Ison.
In addition to her parents, Monnie was preceded in death by her brothers, Arless, Rufus, Joe Lee and Curtis Ison; and her sisters, Lillian Ison, Delsie Smith, Myrtle Sherman, Sena Alice Williams and Elsie Ryder.
She was a caregiver and a member of the Fresh Start Baptist Church.
Her survivors include her husband, Gayle Flannery of Knoxville, Tenn.; three daughters, Lillian (James) Barber of Sandy Hook, Helen (Bud) Claxon of Grayson and Brenda (Glen) Gray of Mt. Sterling; one stepdaughter, Mary Stump of Huntington, W.Va.; one stepson, Steve (Mary) Flannery of Knoxville; three sisters, Jan V. Smith of Ohio, Elva Jean Pack of West Liberty and Vonnie Waggoner of Sandy Hook; one brother, Tommy Ison of Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and 31 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Donnie Pack and Darrell Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Crum Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, and after 9 a.m. until the service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
