02/25/13 — Mr. Edgar Lee Waugh, 75, of Olive Hill, passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at his residence.
He was born April 6, 1937, in Carter County, a son of the late Buford and Reba Kiser Waugh.
Edgar was a Christian and worked for more than 40 years as manager and later as owner/operator of Stamper Brothers Market in Olive Hill. He loved telling stories of all the people he had met through the years at his job. Edgar enjoyed reading, watching basketball games, being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Leta Jo Fultz Waugh, who passed away Aug. 10, 1996, and two sisters, Virginia "Emogene" Waugh-Nolte and Helena Waugh Patton.
Edgar is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Tommy Mattingly of Olive Hill and Dee Dee and Casey Shumway of Catlettsburg; a very special grandson, Jared Thomas Mattingly; and one sister and brother-in-law, Ruth Ann and Clayton Fife of Olive Hill. He also leaves many other family members, neighbors and friends who will miss him greatly.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill with Brother Gary Sparks officiating.
