Nadine Cartee Armstrong

1915-2013

11/11/13 — Nadine Cartee Armstrong, 98, of Raeford, N.C., formerly of Olive Hill, passed away Friday morning, Nov. 8, 2013, at Firsthealth Hospice Care Center in Southern Pines, N.C.

She was born Nov. 7, 1915, in Carter County, a daughter of the late C. S. Cartee and Gertrude Craig Cartee.

Nadine was the last member of the Olive Hill High School Class of 1933. She was of the Christian faith and a member of the First Christian Church of Olive Hill for many years. Nadine was a homemaker, and helping care for her grandchildren was her greatest joy in life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Eldon "Curley" Armstrong; one grandson, Michael Collins; and a son-in-law, William Collins.

Nadine is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Sandra Collins of Olive Hill and Judith and Dean Sheets of Raeford, N.C.; two grandsons, Stephen Collins of Lexington and Philip Sheets of Sanford, N.C.; six great-grandchildren, Ryan Collins, Levi Collins, David Collins, Michaela Collins, Elizabeth Sheets and Olivia Sheets; one great-great granddaughter, Isidora Collins; one brother-in-law, Garrell Armstrong of Lawton; one sister-in-law, Thelma Armstrong Hillman of Lawton; and Kristina Sheets of Pinehurst, N.C. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at the First Christian Church in Olive Hill with Pastor David Gee officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Olive Hill.

Friends may visit after 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Christian Church, 110 Caleb Powers Lane, Olive Hill.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 538, Olive Hill, KY 41164.

Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill is caring for all arrangements for Mrs. Nadine Cartee Armstrong.
