11/05/13 — Emma Geneva Sparks Erwin McGlone, 59, of Olive Hill, passed away Monday evening, Nov. 4, 2013, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
She was born Jan. 3, 1954, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Joseph and Emma Howard Sparks.
Geneva was of the Christian faith and a member of Kibbey Chapel Christian Holiness Church. She enjoyed dancing and spending time with her sisters and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Alexis McGlone; one brother, Charles Sparks; and one sister, Rosie Grigson.
Geneva is survived by her husband of 28 years, Bernard McGlone; eight sons and five daughters-in-law, Kenny Erwin, Tommy Erwin, Michael Erwin, Landon and Geanina McGlone, Junior and Beth McGlone, Ray and Beveralee McGlone, Donald and Linda McGlone and Keith and Missy McGlone, all of Olive Hill; two daughters and a son-in-law, Norah and John McGlone and Emily Erwin, all of Olive Hill; 35 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Joseph Sparks and Cecil Sparks, both of Carter City, Robert Sparks and Vernon Sparks, both of Olive Hill, and Thomas Sparks of Vanceburg; four sisters, Freda Roe of Richmond and Beveralee McGlone, Beth McGlone and Carol McGlone, all of Olive Hill; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill with Brother Gary Cooper and Brother David Rayburn officiating. Burial will follow in Emma’s Paradise Cemetery on Jordan Fork in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, and until the service hour at 2 p.m. Friday at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home, 145 Gearhart Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Geneva's family will serve as pallbearers.
