9/6/13 — Walter Lee Leadingham, 82, Olive Hill, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 4, 2013, in Carter County.
He was born Jan. 23, 1931, the son of the late Everett and Ethel Boggs Leadingham.
Walter was of the Baptist faith and retired from General Motors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Columbus Leadingham; and three sisters, Ola Blankenbeckler, Nadine Bowling and Perline Pennington.
Walter is survived by his wife of 53 years, Wilma Jean Tackett Leadingham; one son and a daughter-in-law, Curtis and Irene Leadingham of Fenton, Mich.; two grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Leadingham of Fenton, Mich.; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Arvin and Ida Leadingham and Vernon and Lily Leadingham, all of Olive Hill; and two sisters, Maxine Blankenbeckler and Floris Jones, both of Walled Lake, Mich. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill with Brother Lester Bowling officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Hill Memorial Park in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, and until the service hour at 1 p.m. Saturday at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home, 145 Gearhart Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164 for Mr. Walter Lee Leadingham.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
