2/24/14 — Bobby Ellis Reed, 79, of Olive Hill, passed away Thursday evening, Feb. 20, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 12, 1934, in Hager, a son of the late Bert and Judia Faulkner Reed.
Bobby attended James Chapel Community Church and was a tire drill press operator and lifelong farmer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gwen Reed; one son, Mike Reed; one daughter, Debbie Hicks; one grandchild, Brandon Hicks; one great-great-grandchild, Jazneil Marqueze; and three brothers, Edison Reed, Dean Reed and Stelson Reed.
Bobby is survived by his companion, Alma Kaye Burchett; one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Roy Hansford of Hillsboro, Ohio; one son-in-law, Robert Hicks of Wilmington, Ohio; one daughter-in-law, Marie Reed of Wilmington, Ohio; two stepsons, Kevin Dewayne Burchett of Olive Hill and Carey and Teri Burchett of Grayson; eight grandchildren, Michelle Rouadi, Chris and Melissa Reed, Timmy and Liz Reed, Buddy and Tracy Phillips, Steven and Amber Hicks, Craig Manor and Ruby Miller, Jon Hansford and Sennie Keyser; five step-grandchildren, Kyle, Courtney, Kelsey, Kerrick and Tyler Burchett; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Louetta Bailey of Castilla, Ohio; and a stepmother, Letha Plank of Morehead. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother James Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, and until the service hour Tuesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
